Ella Mai Miami Gardens Concert reviews
Poor sound production
I hadn't seen Ella Mai, but we ended up catching the last 6 songs by +LIVE+. The sound quality at this venue surprised me as I hadn't been there in years. It was impossible to discern the nuances of the music most of the time, and the vocals got lost even though it slightly improved around the 3rd song of Ella Mai. To me, that was a big loss since this band's songs have a lot of nuance. I appreciated that Adam Duritz told a lot of stories, although it was kind of an expensive night just for storytelling! If you can barely distinguish the songs from a band you're really familiar with, that's a drag. I don't expect a concert to sound like studio recordings, but the experience was underwhelming. The natural setting of the venue, the open air, and the easy access to food and drink are things I love. The staff is nice. I'd think twice about going there again. (I'd definitely see Ella Mai again if I knew the venue had decent sound quality.)
